Description

SE wishes to appoint suppliers to deliver specialist advice to companies developing innovations in the water sector. It is anticipated that the framework will commence on 1.9.2018 for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 1 year. This project is a new approach to the Hydro Nation Water Innovation Service which operated 2014-18. HNWIS proposes a new delivery method, focus and smart objectives, which incorporate lessons learned from the first project to deliver more impact to the sector. The winning suppliers will support the company with an independent commercial assessment of the status of their current product and service and recommendation for future actions. This can be undertaken in isolation, or can be combined with other support as a way to enhance the benefit to the companies of going through a test centre, however it is recognised that not all companies will need to go through a test centre. This service will offer companies a maximum of 2 days consultancy time and will focus on establishing the market readiness of their product or service. The winning suppliers will support the company focused on making the most from their use of a test centre. The definition of a test centre is a physical place where the company submits their product for independent testing. This includes Scottish Water sites at Bo’ness and Gorthleck, other official test centres and testing with a partner or potential customer. From prior experience it is known that some companies require support to make the best possible use out of time allocated in a test centre. This can typically include guidance in advance of going to the test centre, how to set up the test itself and guidance on information to be collected; support during the testing to make sure all goes as smoothly as possible; and support after the test to support the company to make best use of all information collated. It is anticipated that the majority of companies will not need support in all three areas therefore the grant funding is between 5 to 10 days to be agreed with Scottish Enterprise in consultation with the company.
