Summary of the work Information gathering -mapping and understanding ‘as is’ technologies in RBKC and WCC. Technical subject matter expertise, leadership and knowledge transfer in the key technologies supporting the team and third parties with the migration of on-premise applications to the Azure cloud. Managing delivery of migration plan with CSP. Specialist role Programme manager Expected Contract Length 18 months Latest start date Monday 6 July 2020 Who Speclialist Work With The in-house infrastructure team, a CSP supplier, other third-party suppliers and key organisation stakeholder. What Specialists Work On Management of CSP to ensure to time and cost delivery, change management within the in-house infrastructure team. Skills & Experience • Adopt user-centred and agile approaches, consistent with the Government Digital Service Standards • Experience designing and implementing secure, resilient, highly available configurations of infrastructure components • Experience/knowledge of automation of cloud deployments and developing infrastructure as code using terraform • Experience of introducing Network and Application security architectural frameworks within physical and virtual/cloud environments • Experience of cloud migrations for large microservice architectures, incorporating/introducing best security practice • Experience of delivering cloud migration using various cloud technologies. • Experience of working with technical cloud delivery partners • Experience of supporting internal technical teams through cloud adoption, cloud delivery and management • Understand how to meet the needs of a range of users undertaking a breadth of journeys, ensuring the user ‘gets it right first time’. • Experience of delivering quickly to challenging timelines Nice to Haves • Demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience of knowledge and use of Government Design Standards and principles or similar • Demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience of working with a Local Authority on a high-profile digital transformational project • Detail your Risk, Issue management and reporting approach including but not limited to anticipated risks to delivery and resolution methodology • Detail the proposed teams experience and skills and as to how this will relate to and add value to project (align this with your Work History to evidence) • Detail and demonstrate your knowledge transfer and off boarding process and how this will ensure continuation of service by the organisation once the Contract ends. Work Location Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street and Westminster City Hall, Victoria Street, London. Is this opportunity for a Programme manager or a Technical Lead, as the title says one thing and the definition of the specialist role is say the other, and the experience required seems to be a mix of the two!?!? The opportunity is for TECHNICAL LEAD to help support the infrastructure team in cloud adoption. 6. The personality types and skill sets are substantially different such that usually a good candidate for one role would exclude them from the other role. Please can you be clearer!?
