Summary of the work Delivery Manager for a project to consolidate our website services and applications. It will involve coaching the team to ensure successful delivery of the project and roadmap, managing the backlog, meeting facilitation, stakeholder management. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length To 31 March 2022, with the possibility of extension, up to nine months in total Latest start date Tuesday 1 February 2022 Maximum Day Rate £600 per day Early Market Engagement With The National Archives Private Beta website launched and preparations for migrating our website to the new platform underway, we need a Delivery Manager to work with us to review all our existing digital services including legacy content and applications and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand their current/future requirements and create a roadmap for the project. Experience of working in government and working with legacy systems would be beneficial. Who Speclialist Work With The Delivery Manager will work with the Lead Service Design Manager and Operations Manager, as joint Product Managers on the project. They will also be expected to work alongside colleagues from the Digital Services department and engage with stakeholders across The National Archives, including other digital teams, marketing, education, events & exhibitions, collection care, information management, archives sector, research and collection expertise and engagement. What Specialists Work On Delivery Manager for a project to consolidate our vast digital estate, made up of online services and applications hosted across a variety of platforms. It will involve planning, recommendation of 'best practice’ approaches, coaching the team to ensure successful delivery of the project and roadmap, managing the backlog, meeting facilitation, stakeholder management. Skills & Experience • Proactive/passionate/positive/delivery-focused expert, strong advocate of Agile practices. Experience in delivering a range of agile methods, frameworks, methodologies and tools, and understand which best to apply in a given situation • Experience of matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams and skilled at building trust, reflecting, motivating and challenging the team, and innovating to create or tailor new ways of working. • Strong diplomacy/negotiation skills, to engage with team members, colleagues and senior stakeholders, build effective relationships and achieve buy-in collaboratively. Uses information to challenge status quo and inspires confidence of stakeholders. • User-focused, with proven experience of understanding robust, secure and inclusive digital products that meet user needs, technical requirements, legal or policy constraints and the quality expectations of the business. • Understanding of the digital landscape, with experience of relevant sector(s) (government, archives, information services, culture and heritage) and working with legacy systems. • Experience of developing product roadmaps and backlogs, structuring and tracking work, managing spend and communicating and forecasting progress and velocity. • Detailed knowledge of using JIRA to plan and manage products and services. Nice to Haves • Understanding of CMS’s, data and cloud platforms. • Experience delivering website consolidation type projects in the past Work Location The National Archives, Kew, Richmond, Surrey TW9 4DU. Working remotely. Once COVID restrictions allow, occasional visits to Kew may be required. Working Arrangments Given the situation with COVID-19, remote working will be the main arrangement for this project. Some work may be conducted at The National Archives, Bessant Drive, Richmond, Surrey TW9 4DU, but only when it is appropriate and safe to do so.
