T21/27_Manikins for Simulated Learning

Published

Description

ARU are developing new Clinical skills areas, on their Cambridge, Chelmsford, and Peterborough campuses to supplement the increased demand for simulation time, in line with the latest guidance from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and with the increase in numbers of nursing, midwifery and allied health students. The new clinical skills labs will contain primary and secondary care simulated learning environments and will be used for undergraduate and post graduate teaching including our three-year undergraduate courses, our 4-year dual nursing registration course and our post graduate professional development courses. The manikins will supplement the advanced scenario-based simulation, primarily based around patient care from a nurse’s perspective in both the ward environment and the home, recognising and responding to the deteriorating patient (both child and adult) and advanced clinical assessment and interventions in our post graduate courses.
