MSLETB, as part of its Further Education and Training (FET) service provision, provides hands on practical training to meet the demand for technicians and workers in advanced engineering and other sectors. To remain relevant MSLETB training centres continuously replace and update equipment schedules to provide training that keeps apace with developments in industry and manufacturing. The Future FET: Transforming Learning Strategy 2020 – 2024; identifies the evolving role for FET due technological advances and the automation of work practices. Vocational and technical skills must continually and rapidly evolve to keep pace with the significant increase in the use of automation, smart technology, artificial intelligence, and augmented & virtual reality. MSLETB requires an Innovative advanced manufacturing training facility that replicates/simulates automated manufacturing process that are relevant and current to employers in this region. Advanced Manufacturing is the use of innovative technology to improve products or processes, with the technology being described as "advanced," "innovative," or "cutting edge." Advanced manufacturing industries "increasingly integrate new innovative technologies in both products and processes. As Jobs change due to these automation advances and the adoption of digital technologies so too must training to position prospective employees. The programme to be delivered by MSLETB is designed to enable candidates to pursue challenging and rewarding careers in the role of advanced manufacturing processes in a variety of industry settings. Such roles encompass automation, mechatronics, electronic, electrical, mechanical, PLCs (programmable, logic controllers) with computational skills, pneumatics, and robotics. To deliver these courses; training facilities are required to replicate/simulate various automated manufacturing process installations & equipment to deliver training to learners in electrical controls, PLCs, Pneumatics and Robotics.
