NRW is seeking to award a framework contract for the purchase of services of a PistenBully Operator/Driver to operate a PistenBully wetland harvester and attachments to control dominant purple moor grass on Welsh raised bogs, as set out in the LIFE Project bid to restore protected habitat (H7110*). The successful supplier should provide both a primary and relief driver to undertake the tasks in this requirement when the primary driver is not available. The purpose of the requirement is to improve the conservation status of 694ha of H7110*, 275.6ha of H7120 and associated H7150 and H7140, within the 7 raised bog SACs wholly in Wales by implementing favourable management. It will do this by tackling the key threats to H7110, and creating suitable conditions for its recovery from H7120. The project sites support 10.3 % of the H7110* UK SAC resource and the majority of H7110* on natural (un-cutover) raised bogs in southern Britain. Restoration of this is a priority for safeguarding original H7110* habitat in the EU. The location for the delivery of this requirement will be at 2 main sites within the Mid Wales (Ceredigion) area, Cors Caron a Cors Fochno with possible minor works on other sites as required. The duration of the framework will be 4 years, with breakpoints based on a 2+1+1. A performance review will be carried out at the end of each year. Break points are available within the Framework Agreement at the end of the second year, at which time we will decide on whether the Framework Agreement will continue for a further one plus one years (2+1+1). NRW will award this framework to a single supplier.
