Supported Living Providers Workshop - 22nd August 2016. This aims of this workshop are: 1. To launch the ‘Market Position statement’ for Supported Living. The Market Position Statement is designed to provide intelligence, information and analysis about the supply and demand of services to enable providers to; • Respond to gaps in the market and to prepare for projected future trends. • Support providers to shape their services to meet the needs of individuals • Support the ‘personalisation agenda’ locally by emphasising the importance of service users having choice and control in their care. • Share the Councils thinking and future commissioning intentions. 2. To offer a space for Supporting living providers to network, develop learning/ best practice 3. Form a strategy about how to communicate to share best-practice and knowledge that benefits all. This workshop will not focus on any part of the current CSS re-commissioning - if you are interested the CSS process you can find out further information by from https://www.bristol.gov.uk/social-care-health/support-to-live-at-home/bristol-community-support-services Who is this for? Providers who are currently, or considering providing a Supported Living service; a maximum of 35 can attend this workshop. There will be a resources table where you can put information about your service and bring any other resources you would like to share. What’s on the agenda? 9:30-10:00 - Networking 10-10:45 - Presentation identifying key points from the Market Position Statement for Supported Living. 10:45-11.45 Provider Hot Topic Workshop 1. 11:45-12.30 - Provider Hot Topic Workshop 2. 12:30-12:45- Summary/Evaluation What do I do next? 1. Choose 2 of the following topics that we have picked up through feedback from Providers at previous engagement events and through the online survey https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/2CDQYYJ. 2. Register your interest/ attendance by emailing : Russell.henderson@bristol.gov.uk A. Filling Voids and Matching individuals to shared accommodation. B. Assistive Technology – what is available? How can reduce dependence on services and increase health and well-being? C. Technical assistance for de-registering from a Care-home to a Supported living home. D. Property investors – have you been approached by a property investor offering you long-lease properties? What checks do you need to do to comply with legislation? E. Q&A with Housing benefit Expert and looking at different models of care and the impact of these models on housing benefit. Where & When City Hall 22nd August Start: 9:30 for 10:00 start Finish: 12:45 What will happen next? If the group feel that it has been a valuable exercise/has scope for further development I would like to identify a core group able to commit to meeting quarterly. Future events will be advertised through Eventbrite.
