Summary of the work The specialist will work with the existing DWP Test teams and the 'Cloud First' project. This will consist of DWP Digital staff and other 3rd party suppliers engaged in test automation development work. Specialist role Data engineer Expected Contract Length 6 months Latest start date Friday 15 October 2021 Maximum Day Rate £500 per day ex VAT Who Speclialist Work With The existing team is augmented with a mix of Civil Servants and other 3rd party supplier resource. What Specialists Work On DWP are looking to engage with a supplier to provide an experienced automation tester to work within the existing DWP Team, to help deliver our strategic move towards continuous testing and development of the CloudFirst automated testing packs required specifically. The specialist will be a highly experienced automation tester, able to deal with the design,development,testing /hardening and implementation of test packs. - Specialist will map requirements, design, and develop functional automation tests. Managing all the key dependencies for automation (environments,data,requirements etc) - Knolwedge transfer to existing test team members. Skills & Experience • Essential: Development of automated test suites • Essential: Code documentation • Essential: Modern standards approach • Essential: Web application testing • Essential: Significant experience of desiging test packs based discussion with stakeholders. • Essential: Significant experience of building automation packs • Essential: Good experience of undertaking knowledge transfer to existing teams. • Essential: Demonstrable experience of working in a transformation project, and supporting the delivery of key milestones. • Essential: Attend and participate in Agile ceremonies. • The specialist will need to be a highly experienced (Practitioner level) Test Engineer. • Day to day planning, design, and development of automation tests. Contributing towards programme milestones. • Test team and project teams, and undertaking KT. Nice to Haves • Desirable: TestComplete • Desirable: Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Office 365, and end user computing experience • ISTQB or equivelent experience • Demonstrable experience of working in a enterprise scale organisation Work Location The supplier will normally be required to work from DWP offices in the North West (Manchester or Blackpool offices) but until COVID restrictions are lifted, the supplier will be required to work from home with occasion visits to the DWP office Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per work remotely until further notice. Security Clearance The supplier will be required to hold BPSS security clearance as a minimum.
