13288 - Demolition and associated works of Pershore Street Multi-storey Car Park - Moat Lane and Manor House, Moat Lane - AWARD
Published
Description
The Council wishes to establish a Contract for the demolition of a former office block and car parks in Digbeth Birmingham. The former two large multi-story car parks and Council office building form part of the Smithfield development site and this land has been earmarked for re-development, therefore identifies the need for safe demolition and site clearance. Part of the cleared site has also been selected to host a selection of key sporting events which will form part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The demolition of the car parks is to be carried out using high reach demolition machinery and parts of Manor House and Moat Lane car park will most likely require some hand demolition works given the close proximity of the building to the public highway. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary highway permits and seeking protection agreement with utility companies for buried live services that are located within close proximity of the structures and underground storm water attenuation tank. The Contract will be for a duration of 34 weeks (unless terminated under the terms and conditions of contract). It is anticipated the works will commence in April 2021 and be completed by December 2021. The contract will be awarded to a single supplier. BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest. The web address is: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc Registration and use of In-tend is free. All correspondence for this procurement process must be via the In-tend correspondence function. Working safely during coronavirus (COVID-19) Two open days have been assigned to view the site and buildings which will take place on Monday 8th February and Tuesday 9th February 2021 between 9:00 am - 14:00pm. Contractors who wish to view the site and buildings respond via the correspondence function on the Intend portal. A date and time slot will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis and contractors must not arrive before their pre-selected time allocation. THERE WILL BE NO OTHER OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT THE SITE OUTSIDE THESE DATES. A maximum of 2 people will be allowed to enter the site and buildings and must adhere to all government guidelines including soci...
