The contracting authority is potentially seeking a supplier to provide an adult social care provider engagement and support service. Within the adult social care provider sectors the current digital maturity is considered low when compared to those of health and this service will aim to work with the sector to better understand their requirements through direct engagement to: — influence the development of products and services within the digital transformation portfolio, — disseminate to the adult social care providers an understanding of the benefits available through the adoption of digital technologies, — complete an annual review of the digital maturity of the adult social care provider sector, — firmly embed digital as an asset for efficiency and better care. The above is neither an exhaustive or final requirement. It is subject to development prior to any potential subsequent contract notice. This notice is for information only. The contracting authority may or may not subsequently publish a formal contract notice in the future. As part of the NHS England 5 year forward view the NHS is committed to taking decisive steps to break down the barriers in how care and support is provided, including between health and social care. The secure sharing of information is a critical element of reducing that barrier and despite pockets of good practice, information sharing with care providers has scope for improvement. The core aim of this service will be to widen the understanding of the implementation of the data security and protection toolkit and associated NHS Digital tools and services in relation to the digitisation and integration of health and social care. This will help provide a foundation for digital maturity thus widening the door to wider information sharing, supporting the use of NHS mail, access to the summary care records. This work will link and support existing plans within NHS Digital, NHS England and Department of Health and Social Care for care provider support and engagement and will need to be coordinated with the NHS Digital communications and strategic account management function, and the relevant work streams. The service is being established to benefit service users who are its ultimate stakeholders and as such, the contract awardee will be uniquely positioned to work with NHS Digital, NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care and others wherever it is feasible and useful to do so to maximise its value and cost effectiveness. The key benefits for providing the service which will form the performance indicators for ongoing monitoring is to achieve: — Improvement in awareness of the data security and protection toolkit and associated NHS Digital tools & services and their benefits amongst adult social care providers; — Increase in the range of the digital transformation portfolio programme outputs that are accessible and appropriate for adoption by adult social care providers; — An up to date evidence base of the digital maturity of the adult social care provider sector, to include the IT supplier market. The above is neither an exhaustive or final requirement. It is subject to development prior to any potential subsequent contract notice. The contracting authority will be arranging a market engagement event which will be conducted remotely via WebEx. The purpose of market engagement event being to: — share the contracting authority's early thinking around the potential requirement. — seek views from potential providers on the potential requirement. — give an overview of the procurement process should the contracting authority subsequently publish a formal contract notice.
