Description

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) requires a contract for the maintenance of generators, oil storage tanks and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). This equipment is required to be fully tested and operate at maximum efficiency in the event of a loss of power within establishments. The contract will also cover fuel cleaning services to support the upkeep of generators across the SPS estate. The core services are planned preventative and reactive/remedial maintenance of generators, oil storage tanks and UPS, as well as the provision of replacement parts. There is a variety of manufacturers represented in SPS’ current equipment profile. A new national contract will act as the focal point for the statutory maintenance, inspection, testing and certification of equipment. This will ensure SPS continues to meet statutory compliance obligations in addition to the efficient and safe operation of the equipment to be maintained. The contract will cover all 16 SPS sites: 13 directly managed prisons, a college (SPSC), central stores and an administrative headquarters at Calton House to support the operations of the prisons. The contract will be split into the following lots: Lot 1 – Maintenance of Standby Generators and Oil Storage Tanks; and Lot 2 – Maintenance of Uninterrupted Power Supplies. Any contract(s) awarded will be for an initial 3 years with an optional extension period of up to 3 years. The SPS shall commence this procurement process in good faith and with the intention of awarding a contract. Following publication of the contract notice, an Invitation to Tender (ITT) including the European Single Procurement Document (ESPD) will be published by SPS and will be made available to bidders. Tender responses will then be evaluated by the SPS in accordance with the ITT. The SPS shall commence this procurement process in good faith and with the intention of awarding a contract.
