Description

The Welding Institute Limited (TWI Ltd.) is a membership-based Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) with a UK and global presence. They exist to provide authoritative and impartial expert advice, knowhow, and safety assurance through engineering, materials, and joining technologies - helping to design, create and operate the best products possible. In partnership with Lancaster University, two innovation centres have been created, focussing on Digital Manufacturing and Additive Manufacturing technologies. These are the Joining 4.0 Innovation Centre (J4IC) and the Additive Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC). The J4IC is a sustainable industrially focused centre of excellence for joining based technologies and systems underpinned with the philosophy of Industry 4.0. More information about J4IC can be found here: http://www.twi-innovation-network.com/innovation-centres/joining-40-innovation-centre/ The AMIC will deliver access to TWI Ltd's range of AD systems and support capabilities, including: Laser Metal Deposition (Laser DED), Laser Power Bed Fusion (L-PBF), and Electron Beam, and Arc-based (EBAM) wire deposition systems. The Purchaser is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this ITT for the appointment of specialist bid writers to work with both the J4IC and the AMIC in collaboration with TWI Ltd. The University intends to establish a Framework of bid writers who can be called upon to deliver specific packages of work and as such returns are invited from providers who can demonstrate an excellent track record in writing similar successful bids. The anticipated budget for this work over the life of the framework is approximately £3.2 million, i.e. over six years, assuming all extensions are utilised. Due to the nature of the work, this sum is unlikely to be evenly distributed across the six years, and some years may see a much higher or lower spend than others. Spend is not guaranteed, and may go up or down dependent on the opportunities that arise over the term of the contract.
