Summary of the work Cyber Mission Data-Alpha(CMD-A) shall improve the quality of Defence data, through new data structures to enable data exploitation through Machine Learning and Data Science. CMD-A will facilitate the delivery of new Cyber Insights upon data currently held and identify information to assist decision making whilst saving resource effort through automation. Specialist role Cyber security consultant Expected Contract Length The contract will end date Sept 22. Latest start date Monday 22 November 2021 Maximum Day Rate £600 per day MAX. (excluding VAT and inclusive of T&S) Who Speclialist Work With The Cyber Security Consultant (Junior) will report to the Senior Cyber Security Consultants and also the Data Manager, they will be working alongside 4 other Senior Cyber Security Consultants, and 2 Data Engineers. This will make up the 'Data Operations Team'. What Specialists Work On The Cyber Security Consultant will be required to analyse the data to a high level, with the number of feeds increasing, incident management and also data reports are currently not supported, they will be required to review of overall process for data feeds both old and new. They also need to provide documentation to the Data Manager (Cyber data assessments) and run analysis of data feeds and systems, including GAP analysis. Providing a final report at end of each project cycle to the Data Manager, working with other team members to implement and provide recommendations from reports. Skills & Experience • Experience in an Cyber/Data analyst or Security Operations Centre (SOC) role OR equivilant (10%) • Experience analysing/onboarding data, or working within a networking environment. (10%) • Knowledge of cyber security principles (5%) • Incident reporting and management (5%) • BAU experience (Cyber Ops) (10%) • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. (5%) • Revelant qualifications in CyberOps/Data Science or revelant industry (10%) • Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cyber security lapses. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities. (5%) • Knowledge of Agile development CI/CD pipeline. (5%) Nice to Haves • Experience with SIEM tools. • Previous experience working within a defence or intelligence environment • Previous experience working within a defensive cyber security environment • An existing portfolio which demonstrates aptitude and skills Work Location MOD Corsham / Working from home. Working Arrangments 5 days per week, with a mixture of working from MOD Corsham and remote working. The task will dictate the location of the work. Security Clearance DV, although initially SC (must be held to start role) would be acceptable with the aim to acquire DV once onboarded. Sole UK nationality is required for this role. Additional T&Cs Off-payroll working rules apply (IR35 in-scope). Any Personal Services Company (PSC) candidates will require to come through an umbrella company.
