For the Design and Delivery of a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work Programme (Step Up to Social Work)

'Step Up to Social Work' is a DfE funded initiative with 6 previous national cohorts of students having been taken through the programme at Masters level. Cohort 7, due to commence in January 2022 will be the fourth cohort to be made available in the South West region, delivering at Post Graduate Diploma level. However, we anticipate that successful Higher Education Institution(s) (HEI(s)) will offer a self-funding pathway through to a full MA, should students wish to progress. This Contract is being procured on behalf of the following organisations. • Somerset County Council (lead authority) • South Gloucestershire Council • Bath and North East Somerset Council • Swindon Borough Council • North Somerset Council • Bristol City Council • Devon County Council • Plymouth City Council • Torbay Council • Cornwall Council Lot 1: In summary, the overall programme will cover and be mapped to the following; • The bespoke programme should provide the necessary academic, taught and practice based social work education to practise as a Social Work England registered Social Worker at a minimum of Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) level. • The programme will give the students access to the academic input, practice-based skills and experiences, values and capabilities at threshold standards of professional practice, as a minimum. The programme will prepare students to successfully achieve and claim their qualification, and to apply for Social Work England (or successor regulatory body) registration. • The knowledge and skills for child and family social work:
