Description

A new Interdisciplinary STEM Teaching and Engagement Centre (ISTEC) will contain state-of-the-art laboratories for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. It will also support the University's schools, colleges and community outreach activities, while providing important facilities for industry and a platform for wider collaboration. The centre, which is being established at the University's Clifton campus, will be new build and enabling works are anticipated to commence Easter 2016 with construction following on to enable Practical Completion to be achieved in Summer 2017. The Interdisciplinary STEM Teaching and Engagement Centre project will be split into Lots which will be tendered on a staggered basis as and when documentation becomes available, through the Intend system. New Contract Notices will be issued for Lot/s when tendered. This Contract notice covers the following Lot 11 Roof Package Current/Future Lots may include but are not restricted to the following: Lot 1 — Bulk excavation and Cart away — Approx. 2 500m3; Lot 2 — Ground works — Concrete Foundations lift pits and retaining walls, drainage and ground floor slab, external works; Lot 4 — Steel Frame from ground floor slab to roof; Lot 5 — Concrete Deck — Steel concrete decking to form 1st floor and roof deck; Lot 6 — Fire Protection to steel frame elements; Lot 7 — BWIC core drilling, fire stopping, secondary steel, etc.; Lot 8 — Steel and secondary steel — plant screens to roof, riser platforms, handrails and balustrades; Lot 9 — Screed approximately 1 600m2 of floor screed to 1st floor to include all sundries and pumping; Lot 11 — Roof — approximately 1 600m2 of roof finish including insulation, roof lights, roof access, gutters and fall arrest systems; Lot 12 — Masonry brickwork, block-work and sundries Approximately 1 500m2 of facing Brickwork and 1 600m2 of inner skin block-work. Potential additional works to internal walls circa 3 500m2 of internal block-work; Lot 13 — Curtain walling, windows and external doors, approx. 110m2 curtain walling, approx. 550m2 of windows and external doors; Lot 14 — Glazed Partitions internal glazed partitions and doors approx. 220m2; Lot 15 — Internal doors Single solid core doors 70 No Leaf and a 1/2 doors 9 No Double doors 4 No Paint grade W.C doors 32 No; Lot 16 — Partitions — dry lining skim to external walls approximately 1 600m2; Lot 17 — Ceramic tiling to splash backs and W.Cs approximately 400m2; Lot 18 — IPS panelling to 32 No W.Cs; Lot 19 — Decoration Walls, ceilings and doors, etc.; Lot 20 — White-rock hygienic finish to walls Approximately 2 250m2; Lot 21 — Self levelling screed 1 700m2; Lot 22 — Resin flooring Approximately 1 300m2; Lot 23 — Carpet approximately 600m2 of robust circulation computer room areas; Lot 24 — Vinyl approximately 360m2 non-slip vinyl; Lot 25 — Lab Benching Approximately 325m of Lab benching to Chemistry, Physics and Bioscience; Lot 27 — Black out blinds approximately 320m2; Lot 28 — Fume cupboards and vented cabinets 57 No fume cupboards and 8 No vented cabinets; Lot 29 — M&E to include all electrical and mechanical works, fire alarms, data, BMS, induction loops, PVs, etc.; Lot 30 — Lift 1 No lift to travel from GF to 1st Floor; Lot 32 — External Works hard and soft surface finishes and planting, etc.; Lot 33 — Facilitating works Service diversions and trenching; Lot 35 — Cold Rooms; Lot 36 — Enabling Works; Lot 37 — SFS; Lot 38 — Scaffolding Package; Lot 39 — Cladding. The Lots are subject to change and we will issue additional information as it becomes available — there may be additional Lots.
