District Heating - Chaplaincy Centre Pipework Replacement Project
Published
Description
The University is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this ITT. Lancaster University operates a District Heating system that delivers pressurised hot water to buildings via a network of pipework. Historically these pipes ran in ducts and sub-ducts and were uninsulated steel. A scheme to update existing plant rooms has been progressing across campus and the re-commissioning of the district heating system exposed two leaks to the district heating pipework between University House and The Chaplaincy Centre. Temporary heating pipework is currently serving the Human Resources (HR) building whilst The Chaplaincy Centre is using localised electric space heaters. This project involves the design and build of a new section of district heating between University House and the Chaplaincy Centre. This includes the disconnection and isolation of the existing district heating pipework, between the University House and Chaplaincy Centre plant rooms and will include isolation of the existing district heating in the HR plant room. The supply and installation of new insulated district heating pipework and the connection of this pipework within the University House, HR and Chaplaincy plant rooms. Making good of hardstanding and landscaping with materials to match existing. The commissioning of the new installation. The location of the site is Bailrigg Campus, Lancaster, LA1 4YW. This tender is not lotted. One contractor will be awarded the full package of work. The University will host an accompanied site visit on Friday 11th December 2020. Please register your intention to attend via the In-Tend 'correspondence' function by 12 noon Thursday 10th December 2020 at the latest. Please provide the names of your proposed attendees and include the completed COVID - Site operating procedures compliance checklist.
