Description

The purchaser is seeking supplier(s) for this interpretive exhibition maintenance framework agreement to provide a specialist exhibition maintenance service in relation to the HES permanent exhibition infrastructure. Requirements include: — programmed specialist exhibition cleaning, — reactive mechanical and physical maintenance to exhibition interactive elements (excluding AV elements), — touch up of scenic painting, — repair and replacement of props, — scheduled preventative maintenance visits at key sites. Exhibitions require twice yearly deep cleaning and monthly general cleaning. This will include cleaning of exhibition setwork and careful cleaning of fragile mannequins and their outfits in situ. The requirement will also include cleaning of exhibition setwork including trebuchet and prosceniums. Reactive repairs to physical elements of exhibitions such as repair and reaffixing of props, replacement of missing props, small scale touch up scenic painting and general maintenance required due to day-to-day wear and tear. Reactive repairs to mechanical elements of exhibitions, such as repair of mechanical interactives. Touch up and refresh of large scale scenic painting elements within exhibitions across the country. This will include touch up painting repairs to setwork caused by visitor damage, repainting of faded scenic elements and paint touch up of fragile mannequins in situ. Touch up and repainting of smaller pieces of exhibition setwork that has become faded or damaged over time, such as small pieces of scenic painting integrated as part of a larger display. Where an exhibition element is deemed to be at end of life, there is the possibility of the successful contractor(s) being engaged to replace the element within an agreed timeframe. This would be from as-built drawings unless the element requires to be redesigned due to problematic user experience. The successful contractor(s) may be involved in the design, production and installation of scenic dressing elements for any new planned exhibitions. Most of this requirement would be for prop and scenic painting works.
