Description

The intention behind the framework is to establish multi-discipline Landscaping framework. This framework is being established primarily to support Peabody with the redevelopment of Thamesmead. Peabody acquired Thamesmead in 2014 and are developing ambitious plans for its regeneration and development. A key part of Thamesmead’s identity are its existing extensive landscape assets and it is recognised that the development of both these and new areas of landscape and public realm will be critical to ensuring the long-term success of the plans. Full details can be found at - www.thamesmeadnow.org.uk In addition to the requirements defined above the framework will also be open to Member organisations of Procurement for Housing. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitable qualified and experienced contractors to carry out a range of arboricultural works including but not limited to: — Tree surgery — Tree surveys — Felling — Chipping — Advice on tree works The potential scope of the works includes but is not limited to: — Domestic scale works to small trees — Woodland management including appropriate management for conservation, ecological benefits and recreational access — Tree surveys and advice to BS for work planning but also in relation to planning applications — Works to street and parkland trees — Management of waste materials in a sustainable way Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitably qualified contractors that can supply and install fencing, railings and associated features including but not limited to: — Steel and metal railings, fences and features — Timber fencing — Associated elements such as gates, barriers, bollards and control mechanisms — Specialist products such as security fencing and play area fencing — Bespoke feature fencing and railing — Maintenance of existing features including restoration and repair — Installation of hoardings and decoration/application signage and artwork The potential scope of works could include but not be limited to: — Repair and making good existing fences and boundary features — Installation of fences and railings in public spaces and parks — Installation of security fences and railings around construction sites — Installation of all associated features including gates and locks — Varying scale of works from domestic through to construction sites and large public parks. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitable qualified and experienced contractors to carry out ground and land maintenance services. These to include but not be limited to: — Soft landscape operations including grass and meadow management, shrub and perennial management and the complete range of maintenance operations from a domestic to park scale operation, — Habitat and ecological areas/installation management with due regard to ecological advice and input, — Hard landscape operations including cleaning and sweeping as well as restoration, — Specialist works to green roofs, walls etc. including regular maintenance of planting and technical installations such as pumps and mechanical controls, — Maintenance of furniture and fittings to include benches, bins, bollards, wildlife installations, lighting, — Maintenance of play areas. The scope of works will range from small scale domestic works to large scale park wide maintenance. It is anticipated the contractor will be used to working in public areas and meeting all appropriate health and safety requirements. It is expected that the contractor will have a suitable trained and experienced staff such that machinery and equipment and operations necessary to complete a range of works can be carried out. There will be an onus on the contractor operating in a sustainable manner. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitable qualified contractors to deliver high quality hard landscape and associated services and works. This will include but not be limited to: — Groundworks and drainage, — Experience of difficult ground conditions including contaminated land, — Drainage, — A wide variety of paving types including flexible, rigid, concrete, asphalt, natural stone, granular, permeable and others, — Working in new build and existing areas, — Restoration, — Working around utilities, — All associated areas including kerbs and edgings, drainage and street furniture installation. The potential scope will include but not be limited to: — Large scale i.e. park, new installations, — Large scale new build developments both residential and mixed use, — Small scale ‘domestic’ projects including new paving and restoration. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitably qualified contractors that supply riparian, waterways related, irrigation and drainage services including but not limited to: — Land drainage, — Inland waterways and lake works, — Riparian works including clearance, sediment removal, drainage, — Ecological works including wetland planting and establishment, — SuDs installation and associated works, — Management and maintenance works including reed cutting and clearance, — Wetland habitat maintenance, Typical works could include but not be limited to: — Canal and lake works such as vegetation management and reed bed installation, — Land drainage and drainage installation, — Water testing and analysis, — Habitat maintenance, — Desilting and waterbody restoration works, — Removal and re-use of silt and arisings, — Working with water users including fishing clubs. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced contractors including but not limited to playground design, supply and Installation and associated works / services. This to include but not be limited to: — Playground installation, — Playground design/input to design process, — Full understanding of current legislation around play provision, — A good understanding of ‘playable landscapes’ and the value of play, — Experience of both ‘off the shelf’ and bespoke play installation, — Ability to work with community members on projects that consult and engage, Typical works will include but not be limited to: — Playground Design, — Installation of play areas in both existing and ‘new build’ situations, — Restoration of existing play areas, — All necessary groundworks including paving, drainage, safety surfacing, — Installation of equipment including both ‘off the shelf’ and bespoke, — Installation of play water features, — Working with others including artist and specialist designers, — Maintenance of play equipment and facilities, — Scale of projects will range from small “one-off” play areas up to large scale play areas within parks and estates. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitable qualified contractors to deliver sports ground / leisure facilities, synthetic surfaces and associated works / services. This will include but not be limited to: — Natural and synthetic sports pitch provision, — Installation of recreational facilities that could include sports markings and ‘green gym’ exercise equipment, — Renovation of existing facilities, — Maintenance of existing facilities. Potential scope could include but not be limited to: — Design and installation of new facilities, — Build and installation including groundworks, drainage, fencing and all associated works, — Renovation of existing facilities, — Maintenance/specialist maintenance, — Scale of projects will range from small ‘one-off’ requirements to large scale projects. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitably qualified consultants that can deliver a range of ecological services and expertise. We are looking for experienced and qualified practitioners who can deliver services including but not limited to: — Ecological surveys, — Input into strategies and guidance, — Advice on best practice, — Advice on designations and input into planning issues and consideration, — Input into design briefs, — Working as part of a team to achieve design outcomes, — Good understanding of best practice in relation to ecological issues including net-gain, natural capital accounting and other recent innovations, — Experience of Biodiversity Action Plans. The potential scope includes but is not limited to: — Client advice on ecological issues and opportunities, — Assistance with strategies and briefs, — Input into design processes and teams, — Ecological surveys, — Advice on action plans and input into management strategies, — Advice in relation to planning requirements, — Assistance with liaison with key stakeholders, agencies and specialists, — Writing and implementation of biodiversity action plans, — Specialist advice in relation to SuDs, green roofs and green walls. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitable qualified and experienced soil scientists to deliver soil science expertise to landscape projects. We are looking for individuals or consultancies with specific expertise and experience in relation to landscape projects and this includes but is not limited to: — Advice on specification, — Soil handling and management, — Soil sampling and interpretation, — Advice on remediation, — Advice on contaminated and hazardous waste issues, — Advice on best practice and current guidelines, — Scoping briefs and working with others to achieve required outputs and design outcomes. Potential range of works to include but not be limited to: — Residential and commercial projects up to very large scale, — Planting and landscape projects from small i.e. domestic scale through to park scale projects, — Working with contaminated land and high-water tables including former waste and armaments sites, — Achieving excellent ecological and horticultural outcomes, — Consideration of town wide strategies to use materials in a sustainable and cost effective way, — Feeding into multi-disciplinary teams including architects and landscape architects to advise on best practice and effective design outcomes. Peabody and PfH are looking to appoint suitably qualified contractors that can carry out major landscape and public realm projects covering the full range of services including but not limited to: — Hard landscape installation and construction including paving (concrete, brick and stone), kerbing, structural features, — Soft landscapes including planting, tree planting, grass, lawns, meadows, perennials and other planting, — Ecological works and installations, — Structures including level changes, steps, retaining features, — Water features including ponds, lakes, canals, fountains and all associated technical requirements, — Green roofs and walls, — Play features and grounds including bespoke features, — Edges, fences, railing and all associated features, — Soil, contaminated land, — Landform and cut and fill, — Signage and other street furniture including seating, bollards, bins, — Works to highways, — Drainage, — External lighting and associated works. The potential scope of the work could include but not be limited to: — Public realm improvements in housing areas including paving, planting and play areas — Public realm new installation to housing and mixed-use areas including high quality paving, seating and furniture and water features — Installation of new planting and soft landscape — Retrofitting new soft landscape to existing areas including meadows, new plantings — Maintenance of works through defects and potentially beyond — Works in urban settings with high quality design outputs — Works in parkland settings with a focus on placemaking — Works to and adjacent to lakes, canals
