Market Engagement - Highways Maintenance Future Requirements

<p>Market Engagement to set out the Authority's plans for Highways Maintenance work. The Authority wishes to put in place contracts which deliver Core highways maintenance services, Surfacing, Surface Dressing and New Assets and also facilitates a flexible mechanism for the appointed suppliers or supplier to identify and implement innovative services, solutions and reduce the environmental impact of the services delivered throughout the lifetime of the contracts. The new contracts will need to support the Authority&rsquo;s Climate Emergency Strategy and commitment to being carbon neutral by 2030. The Authority hopes to establish new ways of delivering these services to the residents of Somerset, maximising the potential for success for the Authority and the appointed Contractor(s). At present, most of the Authority's highways maintenance activities are delivered through its existing Term Maintenance Contract which is due to expire in April 2024 and will be replaced with the new approach.</p> Keywords: Highways, Term Maintenance, New Assets, Surfacing, Surface Dressing
