Description

Cambridgeshire County Council is dependent on network connectivity to function efficiently and the increasedreliance on digital communications and transactions has increased this dependency over recent years. To facilitate this the CPSN Partnership was formed in 2009 with two objectives: • To reduce the cost of network connectivity for public sector partners via economies of scale achieved throughtaking a shared approach to network connectivity across a geographic area; • To act as an enabler for delivering more joined up public services with the shared network facilitating sharedservice arrangements, shared buildings and new service delivery models. Each partner initiated their own call-down contract against the framework. The contracts have a co-terminus enddate of 23rd June 2018. The County Council intends to build on the success of CPSN with a new partnership to be called EastNet, inrecognition that the CPSN membership now includes organisations in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. TheCounty Council will act as the lead authority to 'stand up' a six year Framework for all partners to able to initiatetheir own call down contracts for up to seven Years for the following key network connectivity: • Managed WAN Service • Managed Internet Access Service • Managed WiFi Service (Public) • Managed WiFi Service (Staff Access) The initial EastNet Partnership membership comprises of: • Cambridgeshire County Council • Cambridgeshire County Council Schools • Northamptonshire County Council • Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service • Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Authority • Huntingdonshire District Council • Cambridge City Council 3 / 5 • South Cambridgeshire District Council • Fenland District Council • Norwich City Council • Peterborough City Council • East Cambridgeshire District Council • Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust Other potentially interested parties in utilising EastNet services include: • Cambridgeshire Constabulary • Hertfordshire Constabulary • Bedfordshire Police • North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust • Nene Clinical Commissioning Group • Corby Clinical Commissioning Group • Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust • Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust
